its not quite daylight here in Chicago, but my children don't need the sun's wake up call, it seems.
We're bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to go! But we aren't "going" anywhere. They wake up to play then play day until naptime, then wakeup to play some more... Until finally its bedtime.
I'm posting this not to tell of our boring day but because I want to offer some company to the other parents out there who are forced out of their cozy, warm slumber to the screams of feuding pre-schoolers and their pattering feet.
The true joys of parenthood. I know they exist but I'm much too tired to recognize them right now. The only thing I want to recognize is the coolness of my pillow and the security of my sateen sheet enveloping my exhausted body.
I haven't had a solid night of sleep in more than 5 years (thats because I'm including the miserable pregnancy I had w my first son).
Yes, I'm being selfish. I apologize to the Creator for that but I'M SLEEPY!
instead of hosting two separate birthday parties this year, for my kiddies, I'm opting to host one nice big party.
They are obsessed with Spiderman and have been for the past 6 months; therefore the theme will be Spiderman. (no brainer.)
I've been buying "things" for a few months now, if I'm @ a store & I find something that's on sale or original looking, so that I'm not cornered into buying a whole bunch of nonsense as party favors, etc.
I'm on the right track as far as the basics go but now I'm stumped for Entertainment ideas.
The party is scheduled (so far) for early-mid October so the option for an outdoor party exists and I would like to have one main attraction BUT do I rent an inflatable bouncer/jumper thing or something else?
That seems like the only kid option for fun... When money IS an issue. I'm not on a super strict budget, in fact I don't have a budget set but I don't want to drop all of the funds into 1 thing & neglect other details.
Sooooo... I'm wondering if anyone has ideas or suggestions or stories of what they've done to get the most bang for their buck planning a kids birthday party?
why is it that my appt was set for 1:00 pm & Dr didn't see me until 2:15? And then I was pretty much rushed out w/in 15 mins?
How do I find the funds????
How have you changed in the past year?
Submitted by littleduckling.
I hope I've changed.
I know for a fact that I have.
I've gone from stable to unstable, back to somewhat stable and just off my rocker.
So... change? yes, changed.
long sigh...
I watched the movie: La Bola off of Netflix about 1/2 hr ago.
That fucken father!
Yes, I knew there was a bad guy in film but I was hoping it wouldn't be this kids' father.
clean story with very good young actors...
fucken father! Let me at him....
Earlier today, late afternoon actually, we took our monkeys to a birthday party that was hosted at Jump Zone.
All I can say is that this generation of kids are soooooo overindulged.
How cool is it that you can have a pretty decent sized party room - JUST FOR YOU & your guests - along with a HUGE room full of giant unflatables to climb on and jump in?
The monkeys loved it.
I enjoyed watching them push their physical limits and have fun doing it.
I think Jump Zone is a pretty neat-o-mosquito place for a kid to celebrate a birthday party.
As far as pricing... Ya know, its questionable. However; its still a great outlet and alternative to the typical boring bday party.
Creepy - almost eBay worthy. read more
